Placement in the Historic District
Close to the Plaza, three things constrain where a container can sit. Street width, overhead cover from mature cottonwoods and elms, and the fact that many properties have no driveway at all in the modern sense.
We will not guess at this. If your address is in or adjacent to the historic district, we would rather look at it first, or work from a photo you send to the number on this page, than send a truck that cannot turn around. In some cases a 15 yard container is the only size that will physically work, even when the project would justify a 20.

Mesilla Is Its Own Town, Not Part of Las Cruces
This trips people up constantly. Mesilla is a separate incorporated town with its own government, so a container on a Mesilla street or right-of-way is approved by the Town of Mesilla, not by the City of Las Cruces. On your own property, no permit is needed.
Given the historic designation, street placement here draws more scrutiny than it would in a Las Cruces subdivision. Raise it at booking and we will tell you what to expect.
Adobe Renovation Weighs More Than It Looks
This is the single most useful thing we can tell a Mesilla homeowner. A lot of housing stock here is traditional adobe or has adobe and plaster elements, and that material is dense. A container filled halfway with adobe, mud plaster and old brick can weigh more than the same container filled to the rail with cabinetry and drywall.
If you are opening up walls, replacing plaster, or taking out an old adobe outbuilding, tell us that on the phone. We will spec the container and the tonnage honestly so there is no overage conversation after the fact. The same applies to old brick pavers and flagstone from courtyard work.
